ROSCon HR 2026

We are pleased to share that our researcher Matija Markulin participated in ROSCon HR 2026, the first Croatian edition of the internationally recognized ROSCon conference dedicated to the Robot Operating System (ROS). Held in Zagreb, the event brought together experts from academia and industry to discuss the latest developments in robotics, automation, and open-source technologies.

ROS plays an important role in our project, providing the software framework used for communication, control, sensor integration, and coordination of robotic subsystems. Its modular architecture makes it especially valuable for advanced medical robotics applications, where precision, reliability, and real-time data exchange are essential.

At the conference, Matija Markulin delivered a presentation titled ROS2 in the Operating Room: Robot-Assisted Prostate Biopsy. The talk highlighted how ROS2 is being applied in the development of robotic systems for precise prostate biopsy procedures, combining ultrasound imaging, robotic control, and intelligent workflow automation in a clinical environment. Participation in ROSCon HR 2026 provided an excellent opportunity to present our ongoing research, exchange knowledge with the wider robotics community, and strengthen links between medical innovation and modern robotic technologies. It also confirms the growing relevance of ROS-based solutions in next-generation healthcare systems.
